INTRODUCTION

【ステイトメント】

現在の日本社会では政治経済などで決定を下す主要なポジションはほぼ男性によって占められています。

このホモソーシャルな男性社会ではミソジニーが生まれやすく、男性に認められた女性のみが存在を「許容」されていると感じます。例えば最近では性暴力を告発する「＃MeToo運動」や「医大受験で女性のみが点数を下げられていた事例」などのトピックにおいて、被害者であるはずの女性たちに対する風当たりの強さを目の当たりにして、やはりここは男性中心の社会なのだと実感せずにはいられませんでした。

『ホモソーシャルダンス』では男性社会を一つの大きな円として表現しました。これまでも男性社会に対して権利を主張する女性や、いわゆる「男らしくない男」はこの円から排除されてきました。

男性社会の束縛から自由になり、こうした排除を無くす為にはまず、私たちが男性社会の枠組みの中にいると知る所から始めるべきだと考えました。そのために男性社会の構造の一側面を、皮肉と自戒を込めて映像化したのがこの『ホモソーシャルダンス』です。

【Director’s Statement】

In today's Japanese society, the main status to make dicisionsin politics and economics is mostly occupied by men.

In this homosocial men's world, misogyny is easy to be born, and only women who are recognized by men is “permitted” to exist.

For example, in topics these days such as “#MeTooMovement”(which report sexual violence) and “The cases in which only women’s score has been lowered in the medical unuvresityexams in Japan”, we saw the victims are evacuated because of they are WOMEN. It made me realize that here is the male-centered society

In this film, we expressed the men’s society as one big circle.

Women who claim their rights to this society and "unmanly man" have been excluded from this circle.

I thought that we should start to know that we are in the framework of men’s world. in order to be free from the bondage of this circle and to eliminate such exclusion.

This film visualizes one aspect of men’s society with an irony and self-discipline.
